DESIGN
ALL THE TIME

TOMORROWS CLASSICS
My goal is to create furniture items that become classics. I am constantly designing. When I design I pull on my decades worth of furniture experience to come up with new ideas that will last the test of time both aesthetically and actually. Beyond the concept stage lies many iterations from drafting to engineering to prototyping. To get the right results can take years. My work is birthed from the obsession I have with furniture and my passion for creating. My pieces are designed and crafted over many months from extensive consideration, decades of experience and my deep passion.

OUR DESIGN
PROCESS

FROM SKETCH
I began designing furniture long before there were technology systems in place, so I always start with sketches. I then refine those sketches in my notebook. Over the years, I've filled notebooks with my drawings, and I often revisit them, discovering fresh ideas from years past.

As we transition into the engineering phase, I seek guidance from the team, who bring decades of experience in the industry. Their insights frequently generate new ideas and contribute to improved outcomes for our clients.

TO DRAFTING
TO SPECIFICATION

Collaborating with my skilled drafting team, we engage in extensive discussions for weeks or even months determine the precise engineering needed. This process often yields surprising outcomes and strikes a balance between design intent, durability, and safety.

TO PROTOTYPING
Bringing a product to the prototyping stage typically takes more than six months. At Emrik, we design and develop multiple collections every month, with experts meticulously analysing each element for potential improvements. Prototyping is essential for testing a product for real time fit, stability, safety, and aesthetics. Therefore, we frequently undergo several rounds of testing. Patience and respecting the processes is crucial for achieving the best results.

TO MANUFACTURERING
We take great pride in our work. While we could produce less expensive furniture, we choose to focus on the processes, techniques, materials, and people that enhance our designs in every aspect. To maintain high standards, we constantly seek improved manufacturing methods and do not accept anything less than perfection. This attention is what sets us apart from many others.
